A postgraduate from the University of Calcutta with a specialization in business law, he has postgraduate qualifications in personnel management from Punjabi University. He earned his Ph.D. from the University of Pune on organization effectiveness (1977). Dr. Singh is currently an advisor and Distinguished Professor at two Indian private universities (Dr. KN Modi University and Kaziranga University). He teaches, coaches, and mentors' students periodically at Indian Institutes of Management, Raipur, Ranchi, and Jammu, along with coaching students of the Master's Program on OD and Change at the Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Mumbai.
